FAQ Friday #46 – The SealSkin product that seals small leaks from inside the tube is an acrylic sealant, but is it flexible?

SealSkin is an acrylic sealant, so you might think it wouldn’t be flexible once it’s dried, but that isn’t the case! SealSkin is designed to coat the inside of inflatable tubes and once dry it’s definitely flexible.

It’s even flexible if there’s a bit of a pool or lots of layers of it too. Whilst it might be flat in this photo...

The same piece of very thick, dried SealSkin can be easily bent round a 500ml bottle:

And will easily bend further too...

It even has a bit of stretch to it - a bit tricky to photograph, but I've tried...

So if your inflatable boat tubes have a small leak (or leaks!) or the fabric is  becoming porous, then SealSkin could well be the product that you need!
